Day 147_to_153
We’ll spend today at the hotel resting. We feel still sleepy because of the nitrogen in our blood, so we wake up late in the morning. It has been raining almost everyday since we are here in Koh Tao, and today it’s not an exception. Resting day walking around the village! As you can see it’s a touristic place.
We spend three more days here in this idilic island because on Mondays there is any car-ship to Chumphon… What a “pity”, we are trapped here!!!
We have the last dinner with Marco, our diving instructor. For sure we’ll miss him and the diving lessons! He is such a nice and enthusiastic person! We connected since the first moment, so we hope to see him again in the future! We also spend some time with Martina, a sweet girl from Chile. It’s a pity that we met her just before we had to get on board, because she is really nice!
Our not really private room in the ship:
We reach Chumphon next day at 5:30 and, as there is not a lot to do here we decide to head North to Nakhom Pathon. It’s nice to ride despite of the dark, the air is fresh and we get to see a beautiful sunrise! There is not much to see on the highway, just some Line friends when we stop…
Next day we plan to visit Ayutthaya and its ruins, but Bonnie has other plans. When we start riding in the morning it does an awful noise, it seems that the chain is loose. As there is a Triumph workshop near Bangkok, and it’s just around 50km away, we decide to go there.
They take care of Bonnie without any charge!!!
We reach Ayutthaya too late to visit anything, so we just stay at the hotel.
We have an important event next day! we’ll meet with Paul and Clémence!!! The guys we met at the “Baku to Aqtau” ship and then again in Uzbekistan (they drove me from Bukhara to Samarcand, on the crazy day 45 of journey). It’s supernice to keep in touch with the other travellers! If you want to check their Instagram account is @allyoucaneast
First we want to do a quick visit to Ayutthaya old city, but at the end it’s not so quick and we end up walking under the sun more than expected. Anyway it’s a nice city to visit.
We start with the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet
Then, Wat Maha That
A Great Buddha lying in Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon
And finally we head to Nakhon Sawan. We reach there at the evening, but at least we have time to have dinner and a couple of beers with the guys!
We start the day late and slowly, we spend more time than expected talking during the breakfast/lunch that we share with Paul and Clémence. We have so much to say about the last 3 months! It’s time for goodbyes, but we’ll try to meet again in the West coast of Thailand in some weeks.
As Tià is not feeling well and it’s really hot and late, we’ll just stay one more day at the same hotel resting.
