Day 136

Malaysia/Thailand - October 2018

Day 136

Well, we are ready soon in the morning for the departure. We start riding to the border pass early because we want to catch the ferry to Koh Tao today!

We exit from Malaysia without problems. The paperwork is easy. Here comes Thailand. We have to fill some documents, but nothing special, they put the stamp on our visa and we are free to go! Yes, WE are free to go, but not the motorbike!?!!! They don’t allow us to bring the motorbike with us! That’s insane… After a long discussion we see that there is anything we can do. They will not allow us to pass. The officers say to us that we have to go to a bigger border pass. What do we do now??? they have to cancel our entrance to the country adn we are deported (first time ever!!). Then, we have to reenter to Malaysia (thanks that the process is quick and easy), ride more than one hour to the other border under the rain and do the paperwork again. IUHU!!!

Once we reach the Sadao pass border (with a nice storm above us all the way), we start doing the same paperwork again. And again, it seems we are not allowed to enter with the motorbike! This time we have some problems added. They see as something unusual that their colleagues from other border had cancelled our entrance. Again, we have to fight, but finally they put a new stamp on our visa. Next we do is just go out the border on the Bonnie, as there is anybody checking the exit… And just like that we are in Thailand!

The border chaos:

The bonnie is in Thailand!

As it is too late we’ll never reach the harbour on time, so we are just going to spend one night half way in Phatthalung.
