Day 56
We start the morning slowly. Today we drive to Sary-Tash, it’s not a long way, and it seems there is not a lot to do in this little village… We meet with Samuel (@gordaansiosa at Instagram) around midday, and we start riding to the mountains!
At some point we stop to rest a bit in the middle of nowhere, and suddenly we hear motorbikes coming. We cannot believe what our eyes are seeing! They are Robin, Pixie and Kiff (@kiffy-creask at Instagram)!!!! what an amazing coincidence! We are so happy to see each other that we start hugging and screaming in front of the perplex locals (they would think that we are crazy for sure). We spend around an hour together, but then it’s time to separate again. A storm starts, it’s a bit late and they have still some km to do to reach Osh. Before they leave, they share their concern about the car that’s travelling with them (a Dutch couple that we know from the ferry also!), we haven’t seen it pass through, so Kiff decides to go back and try to find them.
After a while waiting to the storm to ease, we continue. We are just 30 km away, but the storm gets starker and it’s a bit scary to ride in this conditions in the mountains. Finally, we reach Sary-Tash going slow and without problems. The way to the hostel is a bit tricky and Tià drops the motorbike, luckily a local helps us to lift it. The Bonnie is fine, but Tià’s box is falling now!
We meet the rest of the group, Tony (@amazonoverland at Instagram) and Gerry. They are two friends travelling together with a “superwell” prepared car!! We also meet there Lukas (@lukinoway at Instagram), and Eloi and Lucy (@mundo.em.moto at Instagram), a couple that’s travelling from Spain on their way to ride the whole world!! We are really lucky, because everyone is really nice!
The views from our window…
Later this night I write to Kiff to ask about the Dutch couple… it seems that they passed in front of us and we haven’t noticed! But Kiff is now stuck because the storm provoked a slide and the road is gone…He could not reach Osh, but he is safe!
Lucky that, that happend after we pass this part of the road, because if we get stuck we cannot cross to China tomorrow! Uffffff!!!!!!!!
