Day 132_to_135
We are going to an island today!!! We’ll take the ferry to Lagnkawi, we are so excited!!! First we have to ride around 2 hours to Kuala Perlis, almost in the border with Thailand.
The way is easy, and when we get bored on the highway we take a secondary road, we have enough time!
Our ferry:
We have the biggest motorbike! (and the cooler :))
We are already in love with this place!
Let’s explore the island!!! We’ll go to the cable car. It’s “just” the steepest cable car ride on earth and it will take us up 708m above sea level to Langkawi’s second highest peak of Mt. Machinchang. That’s going to be an experience (specially because we are a bit afraid of highs!!)
Buying the ticket.
First meters… we are ok
Still a long way ahead us (or behind me)
F… man! we survived!
The beautiful views worth it…
Oh, wait… still a bit more cable car
More views…
And now the way down!
After that we ride to Langkawi, the biggest city on the island. It’s just a touristic village full of Duty free everywhere! And of course, in the evening…
Next day we plan to have a lazy day on the beach… it doesn’t sound bad isn’t it? When we arrive to the Pantai Pasir Hitam (or Black Sand Beach) parking we start talking with some locals. They offer us a boat trip through the mangroves. We discuss a bit the price and we take it! (sorry, tons of picks coming)
The landscape is just amazing…
We are lucky to see a couple of white-bellied sea eagles (they are quite big!!)
Some monkeys…
Just chilling…
Then, we visit a cave full of bats (sorry no photos from the bats, they were sleeping and it was dark), and a little walk through the mangroves.
Later, we head to the sea
And we get to stay for a while in a solitary beach!
Last stop with our new friend Sid it’s a fish farmer. We can catch our lunch there!
Once Sid leaves us at the harbour, we finally go to see the Black Sand Beach. It’s so beautiful!
Next morning we’ll ride to the Gunung Raya Tower, the highest viewing point of Langkawi, and it’s not disappointing at all!
The road…
Later we have to go to the harbour, we are taking the ferry to the mainland!
Tomorrow we’ll cross the border to Thailand! let’s see if they allow us!
