Day 165_to_171
This days are going to be a it boring riding on the highway passing through palm, gum tree and coconut fields.
However we’ll met with Eloy and Lucy again!
Next day we’ll hang around Ao Nang with our friends, at afternoon we even take a kayak to do a little excursion!
Come on! We are in Thailand a massage is a must!
Some night vibes
Next day we rent a longtail boat for the four of us to visit some islands around (Koh Hong and the others around in the Than Bok Khorani National Park). The ladscape, the clear water and the beaches are just not from this world!
What puts Koh Hong on top of many visitors’ itineraries is its spectacular rock formation and its breathtaking natural lagoon surrounding by majestic limestone formations. There is only one way to enter this inner lake; the entrance channel’s width is about 10 metres. We get to be there alone ‘cause it starts raining.
With the sunset it starts being time to go back.
We’ll take the ferry to the Phi Phi islands ( Phi Phi is a group of six islands) the next day. The two main islands are Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. The larger and inhabited Phi Phi Don attracts lots of tourist while the smaller uninhabited Phi Phi Leh hosts stunningly beautiful bays and beaches, including the world-famous Maya Bay, which was the set where The Beach (with Leonardo Di Caprio) was filmed. We’ll stay at Phi Phi Don, and after seeing the atmosphere we decide to stay there just two nights… it’s crowded and full of “party tourist” exactly the kind that “The Beach” was condemning. What a pity, this place died due to success.
I promise the boats aren’t flying!
Yesterday we booked a speedboat trip to see Phi Phi Leh, but we are not allowed to visit Maya Bay. Since June ‘18 the rules had changed for the tourism here; all the island were closed since recently to try to restore and save the coral living nearby, now people may seal to the island but may not visit the famous beach. Maya Bay is closed indefinitely to allow it to recover from the damage caused by millions of tourists.
However we are allowed to visit some beautiful beaches
A local resting!
Another kind of lake similar to the one in Koh Hong
However this one is crowded… a lot af chinese tourists who doesn’t know how to swim…
Here what we got to see about Maya Bay
And this day we’ll just rest around the island waiting for the ferry to go back to Ao Nang. Sorry, no pics!
