Day 46_to_50
Tià arrives early in the morning to the lovely hotel. We enjoy the morning with a late breakfast and the swimming pool, just resting. We have a surprise, Jim and Jenny (another couple travelling on a motorbike that we met in the ferry) are staying also there!!! At midday Paul and Clémence left, they have to continue their way to the Pamir road in Tajikistan. We’ll miss you guys! thanks for your help!
We have a lazy day in the hotel, yesterday it has a bit stressful so we take it easy today. At the evening when it’s less hot we take a taxi to visit the city center… It’s so impressive as we have been told.
Next day we have an easy ride to Tashkent in front of us, we leave at 6:00 in the morning. We want to arrive soon because we want my knee and my ankle checked again. It’s still hurting.
We arrive at the hotel, and we ask for the best hospital in the city. It’s just 10 minutes away, so we take a taxi to go there; it’s the Shox Med Center. in one moment I have my own translator and I’m waiting for an MRI ( we can’t believe it! it costs 50$, that’s insanely cheap!). Tomorrow we’ll have the results and we’ll see the doctor.
We found this Russian orthodox church in our way back to the hotel:
We spend the rest of the evening on the swimming pool reading a bit.
We’ll stay one day more here in Tashkent resting my leg. Next morning we go to the hospital to see the doctor; he checks fast my MRI results, he touches a bit my ankle and my knee and he says that everything is all right. We are so relieved!!! As I got a free translator, and they helped me so much I accept to do a little promotional video for the hospital. I’m super shy so I need like 40 attempts until something good enough comes out!
We’ll not visit Tashkent, the heat is really intense and the doctor said that I should not walk that much. So we just stay at the hotel. Tomorrow we have a riding day! China is waiting for us and we have to be in Sary-Tash (Kirgistan) the 13th of August. I cannot have the luxury of resting some days, we need to keep moving!
We’ll go to Kokand the next day, our last stop in Uzbekistan. It’s around 5 hours riding through the Fergana valley and its mountains, finally we’ll see something else! not just desert! By the way, I’m less scared now to ride, and the roads here are a bit better!
Kokand it’s not really an interesting city, there is not much to see. In fact, I think we are the two unique tourist here! However as we don’t really have plan in Kirgistan we’ll stay here one more day.
When you try to know what are you going to eat… (finally a bad pizza)
Views from Kokand:
Tià tries to find a tour or something through Kirgistan. As I cannot ride a lot, and the roads can be challenging (with a lot of off road on the mountains) he wants to hire a car to have a taste of Kirgistan.
