Day 53_to_56
The night was loooooooooong for me. I was really cold (even wearing my therm clothes and a rain jacket) and the vodka did a perfect work making me go the “"”toilet””” (I write it this way because it was a hole on the ground, but at least nobody can see you because it is inside a little hut). On my little trips to the toilet I could enjoy totally alone the amazing sky again!
We took a local breakfast based on flat bread and litters of boiling chai (tea), then we walk again to see this amazing place… More pics!
The Edelweiss!!!!!!
Navik wants to leave, today it will be a long road day, so we pack everything and we leave the lake behind us. We have mixed feelings, it’s a wonderful place the way it is now… But we think that this can change really easily in some years, if a tourist boom happens. It will be its end.
We keep going through the gravel road and it’s great, the landscape keeps us amazed!
Stop for lunch in a yurt!
This night we feel a bit cheated. The dinner is not included on the hotel price, there is not a lot to choose and the price is incredibly expensive… then there is any room for Navik, so we end up sharing the room with him!!!
Next day it will be a really long and not superexciting day, we have to drive back to Osh. We don’t have a lot to share…
Our driver Navik!
We are excited because in Osh we’ll meet Marc and Samuel! They are part of the China-crossing group, so we’ll be together some days!
We end up having dinner in a fancy disco/restaurant?? with them and some of Samuel’s friends. What a funny night!
Next day we’ll stay in Osh. The Bonnie needs some love after the fall, and Samuel knows a mechanic in the city, so both of them spend some hours there. Just some photos from Osh (sorry we missed the photo from the Lenin statue…)
At the afternoon we notice that something it’s wrong in our back bag… The oil bottle (for the chain) had a leak, so… you can imagine how is the camping gear now. We try to save it, but it’s completely done. As we are not using it, we decide to send the tend and some things back home, and the rest will ve a donative to the hotel.
We have another great dinner with Samuel and his friends. It was a good lazy day!
Next morning we start the day slowly. We’ll drive to Sary-Tash, it’s not a long way, and it seems there is not a lot to do in this little village… We meet with Samuel (@gordaansiosa at Instagram) around midday, and we start riding to the mountains!
At some point we stop to rest a bit in the middle of nowhere, and suddenly we hear motorbikes coming. We cannot believe what our eyes are seeing! They are Robin, Pixie and Kiff (@kiffy-creask at Instagram)!!!! what an amazing coincidence! We are so happy to see each other that we start hugging and screaming in front of the perplex locals (they would think that we are crazy for sure). We spend around an hour together, but then it’s time to separate again. A storm starts, it’s a bit late and they have still some km to do to reach Osh. Before they leave, they share their concern about the car that’s travelling with them (a Dutch couple that we know from the ferry also!), we haven’t seen it pass through, so Kiff decides to go back and try to find them.
After a while waiting to the storm to ease, we continue. We are just 30 km away, but the storm gets starker and it’s a bit scary to ride in this conditions in the mountains. Finally, we reach Sary-Tash going slow and without problems. The way to the hostel is a bit tricky and Tià drops the motorbike, luckily a local helps us to lift it. The Bonnie is fine, but Tià’s box is falling now!
We meet the rest of the group, Tony (@amazonoverland at Instagram) and Gerry. They are two friends travelling together with a “superwell” prepared car!! We also meet there Lukas (@lukinoway at Instagram), and Eloi and Lucy (@mundo.em.moto at Instagram), a couple that’s travelling from Spain on their way to ride the whole world!! We are really lucky, because everyone is really nice!
The views from our window…
Later this night I write to Kiff to ask about the Dutch couple… it seems that they passed in front of us and we haven’t noticed! But Kiff is now stuck because the storm provoked a slide and the road is gone…He could not reach Osh, but he is safe!
Lucky that, that happend after we pass this part of the road, because if we get stuck we cannot cross to China tomorrow! Uffffff!!!!!!!!
