Day 255
Day 255
Oh my… we’ve never experienced jet lag as we where traveling so slowly and now it’s hitting us badly. I wake up at 2:00 AM hungry as a wolf, so at 7:00 I’m eating all of that (that’s a really uncommon breakfast for someone from Spain):
We try to talk to our agent (we were obliged to have and pay one, welcome to Europe) to see when are we going to have the bike again. It seems there is some kind of problem and he assures us it will be impossible to have it back today, it will take 3 or 4 days. We can’t understand why so we head to the airport to talk to him.
Well, we are paying someone who knows less than us what he should do. Great isn’t it? He is talking about the Carnet du Passage and we insist again and again that here he doesn’t have to use it because is an European bike returning to Europe. And even so, 3 or 4 days to stamp it? Even in Kazahstan it was in the same day we arrived!!! At the end we get the paperwork done (by ourselves, we just need that guy to sign and phone somewhere) so instead of waiting 3 or 4 days we’ll have Bonnie within the hour.
As he said it was impossible to get the bike we’ll ride at 4 Celsius degrees around London with thin clothes. Lovely. Then, we have to fight at the hotel because they don’t want to return the new booking we’ve done. We really start to feel bad to be back in Europe. What’s going on with the people here?? Where it went the kindness and the simpathy?
Finally we are packed and ready to depart, but it is so late and London is so crowded that at the end of the day we just have done 10km. We are just tired, fisically and mentally.
