Day 79

India - September 2018

This morning we go to visit the Galta Ji or Monkey’s Temples. I’ve heard that is in a nice environment and full of monkeys… how can I resist??? It’s about 10 km away from Jaipur so we take a taxi to enter to the jungle, it is exciting!

This temples built into a narrow crevasse in the ring of hills that surrounds Jaipur. But the temples are not in a good shape. Sorry for saying, but for me it looks like where Louie (king of the monkeys) lives in the Jungle book!!! There are not many tourists here, and we are a bit harassed by some monks. They want to give us good Karma in exchange of some tips.

A natural spring emerges high on the hill and flows filling the sacred “kunds” (water tanks) in which pilgrims bathe.

We continue our tour with our driver to the Jaipur Fort. The views over Jaipur are really nice!

The last stop is the Jal Mahal or the Water Palace; which is in the middle of a lake. We can just take photos from the shore, because going inside is not possible anymore.

It’s time to rest a bit!
